Legal Information

Last updated: 20 October 2026

1. About this legal information page

This page sets out the legal information that we are required to publish, together with an explanation of how this website works, what you may and may not do with it, and where you can find the other documents that govern your use of the site. It is written for visitors, learners, production professionals and business customers in the United Kingdom, and it forms part of the agreement between you and us together with our Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and Payment and Refund Policy.

We have tried to write everything in plain English. Where a legal term cannot be avoided, we explain what it means in practice and what it means for you. If anything on this page is unclear, or if you need the information in another format such as large print, please contact us using the details in section 4.

2. Who operates this website: identity, legal form and responsible representatives

This website is operated under the name buzzpopry. The legal entity that operates the site, supplies the services and acts as data controller is Leading Light Technologies Ltd, a private company limited by shares incorporated and registered in England and Wales. Where a trading name differs from the registered name, we explain the difference here so that you always know which legal entity you are dealing with and which entity you are contracting with.

  • Company Name: Leading Light Technologies Ltd
  • Trading Name: VideoBits, and the site name used on this website, buzzpopry. All trading names are used by the same registered company.
  • Company Registration Number: 6496207
  • Place of Registration: England and Wales, registered with Companies House, the registrar of companies for England and Wales
  • Legal Form: private limited company limited by shares
  • VAT Registration Number: 925711134
  • Registered Office Address: Beaconsfield Studios, Station Road, Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, HP9 1LG

Responsible Representatives: the company is directed by its board of directors. The names of the directors, and the company's filing history, are recorded on the public register maintained by Companies House and can be inspected there free of charge. If you need to know which person within the company is responsible for a particular publication, course or communication, please write to [email protected] and we will tell you.

We do not currently carry on a regulated profession, so no professional body, trade register or authorisation scheme supervises our activities. If that ever changes, the name of the relevant body, our registration number and the means of accessing the applicable professional rules will be published in this section. We are not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, and nothing on this website is financial, legal, insurance or medical advice.

3. Statutory disclosures required of businesses in the United Kingdom

United Kingdom company law requires a company to publish certain information on its websites, business letters, emails and order forms. The relevant provisions are found in section 82 of the Companies Act 2006 and the associated trading disclosure regulations, and similar duties arise under the Provision of Services Regulations 2009 and the Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002. Failure to publish these details is a criminal offence which can result in a fine for the company and for the officers responsible. This section explains how we meet those obligations and what you should expect to see.

3.1 What we publish

Our full registered name, our company registration number, the part of the United Kingdom in which we are registered, and our registered office address appear on this page, in the footer of this website, on our booking and order forms, on invoices and receipts, and in the footer of commercial emails and other electronic business letters. Where we refer to share capital, the reference is to paid-up share capital. Where we include the name of a director in a business letter otherwise than as a signatory, the names of all directors are disclosed, as the law requires.

3.2 Service information we make available

Because we supply services to customers in the United Kingdom, we also make the following information easily available, including electronically on this website: our name, legal status and business address; contact details for rapid and direct communication; contact details for complaints and information requests; the price of our services where it is predetermined; the main features of each course or service; our VAT number; our general terms and conditions; the terms on which we contract, including governing law and jurisdiction; any after-sales guarantee that offers greater protection than the law requires; and details of any professional liability insurance we are required to hold. The information is provided on our own initiative, is available at the point at which the service is supplied, and is accessible electronically on this website.

3.3 Electronic commerce and consumer information

Where goods or services are advertised or supplied through this website or by email, we provide a geographical address, contact details in addition to an email address for direct and rapid communication, details of any trade body or public register membership, and VAT number. Where a contract can be concluded online, we explain the different technical steps you must follow to conclude it and we acknowledge your order promptly. When we sell to consumers we also provide the information required by the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, as described in section 8.

4. Registered office and how to contact us

Our registered office, which is the address at which formal documents and legal notices may be served on the company, is Beaconsfield Studios, Station Road, Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, HP9 1LG. You may also write to us at that address for any non-urgent correspondence.

You can reach us in the following ways:

  • Email: [email protected]
  • Telephone: 01494 671234
  • Post: Beaconsfield Studios, Station Road, Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, HP9 1LG
  • Online: through the contact form on our Contacts page

We aim to acknowledge enquiries within two working days and to provide a substantive reply within five working days. Complaints are handled under the procedure described in section 13. Telephone calls and emails may be recorded or monitored for training, quality and record-keeping purposes. We do not accept service of legal proceedings by email unless we have agreed to that in writing in advance.

5. Purpose, scope and intended audience of this website

This website is a professional resource dedicated to studio production in motion. It covers studio equipment setup, dynamic camera operation, lighting and sound, and the creation of smooth, high-quality workflows for television news and live shows. The material we publish includes written guides and technical reference notes, equipment set-up checklists, illustrative diagrams and signal-flow charts, recorded demonstrations, and paid online courses that combine all of these elements into structured learning paths.

The site is intended for working and aspiring studio professionals, camera operators, lighting and sound technicians, newsroom and live production staff, and the organisations that employ or train them. It is aimed at adults and at people working in a professional or semi-professional capacity. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of sixteen. All content is published in English and reflects practice in the United Kingdom; studio practice, equipment, safety rules and broadcast standards may differ elsewhere, so techniques may need to be adapted to local conditions and to the instructions of the equipment manufacturer.

This is a commercial website. Some resources are free to read, while courses, workshops and other services are sold for a fee. Nothing on this website replaces an employer's risk assessments, formal health and safety training, venue rules or manufacturers' operating instructions. Practical production work can be dangerous, and you remain responsible for the safety of yourself and others.

6. Access to the website and acceptable use

We grant you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to access and use this website for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. When you use the site, you agree not to:

  • use the site in any way that breaches any applicable law or regulation, or that is fraudulent or harmful;
  • copy, harvest, scrape or systematically extract content, data, course material or user information, or use automated tools, bots or crawlers to do so;
  • share, sell, transfer or make available your account credentials, course access or downloadable materials to any other person;
  • interfere with, disrupt, overload, probe or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its servers or any connected system;
  • upload or transmit viruses, malware or any other harmful code, or use the site to send unsolicited communications;
  • remove, obscure or alter any copyright, trade mark or other proprietary notice;
  • post or submit any content that is unlawful, defamatory, misleading, obscene, harassing or infringing of anyone else's rights.

If you breach these rules we may suspend or terminate your access, cancel any enrolment, refuse future service, and take legal action where appropriate. We may also report criminal behaviour to the police and to other relevant authorities. You are responsible for keeping your account details secure and for all activity carried out using your account.

We aim to keep the site available and working, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. Access may be interrupted by maintenance, updates, security work, network problems or failures at third-party providers. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the site or any content without notice, although this never removes rights that you have already acquired, for example in respect of a course you have paid for.

7. Intellectual property: content, trade marks and permitted use

All content on this website, including text, course materials, lesson structures, video and audio recordings, photographs, diagrams, technical drawings, checklists, software, databases and the site's look and feel, is owned by or licensed to Leading Light Technologies Ltd and is protected by copyright, database right, design right, performers' rights and other intellectual property laws.

The names buzzpopry and VideoBits, together with our logos and course titles, are trade marks or trading names of the company. You may not use them in a way that suggests endorsement, partnership or official connection without our prior written permission, although you are welcome to refer to us accurately and factually, for example in a training record or a CV. Third-party trade marks, equipment names, broadcaster names and logos remain the property of their respective owners and are used on this site only to identify equipment, standards or organisations for teaching and reference purposes; their use does not imply any endorsement by those owners.

You may view, download and print a single copy of any free resource for your own learning or for internal training within your own organisation, and you may quote short extracts fairly with clear attribution to us. You may not copy, republish, sell, rent, sublicense, distribute, broadcast, upload to any sharing platform or social media library, use to train automated systems or machine-learning models, or create derivative courses, teaching materials or products from our content without our written consent. Where a course is licensed to an organisation, the number of permitted users is stated in the relevant order.

If you believe that any material on this site infringes your copyright, trade mark or other rights, please write to [email protected] with enough detail for us to identify the material and the right concerned. We will investigate and, where appropriate, remove or amend the material promptly.

8. Courses, prices, consumer information and cancellation

When we sell courses, digital resources or training services to consumers in the United Kingdom, we comply with the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 and the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Before you place an order, we give you clear information about the main characteristics of the course or digital content, our identity and contact details, the total price inclusive of tax and any delivery or access charges, the arrangements for payment, delivery and performance, the minimum duration of the contract where it applies, and details of after-sales services and commercial guarantees. After you order, we confirm the contract on a durable medium, normally by email, together with a model cancellation form where one applies.

Consumers normally have fourteen days from the conclusion of a distance contract to cancel it without giving a reason. If you ask us to begin supplying digital content or to give you immediate access to an online course, you acknowledge that you lose the right to cancel once supply has begun, and we ask for that consent and acknowledgement at the point of checkout. Live and scheduled workshops may be subject to a specified cut-off date before the session, and those conditions are always shown before you pay. Business customers buying in the course of business do not have statutory consumer cancellation rights, but our own refund and transfer arrangements may still apply to them.

All prices are shown in pounds sterling and include VAT at the prevailing rate where VAT applies; our VAT registration number is 925711134. We may change our prices at any time, but a change never affects an order you have already placed. Payment methods, invoicing, refunds, transfers, and what happens if we cancel or reschedule a course, are all set out in our Payment and Refund Policy.

9. Accuracy, availability and limitation of liability

We take care to ensure that the technical information we publish is accurate and up to date at the time of publication. Studio practice changes quickly, however: camera firmware, menus, lighting fixtures, audio equipment and editing workflows are updated by manufacturers without notice, and working methods vary between broadcasters and venues. Our content is therefore provided for general guidance and training purposes. Before you apply anything you have read or watched here, you should check the current manufacturer's instructions, your employer's procedures and your own risk assessment.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of business, loss of opportunity, loss of goodwill, and loss of or damage to equipment arising from your use of our content. Where we are liable to you in connection with the website, our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim and one hundred pounds. Nothing in this page limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, and nothing in this page affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

10. External links and third-party content

We sometimes refer to manufacturers, broadcasters, standards bodies, venues and other training resources, and we may embed video, audio or diagrams hosted by third parties. Those links and embeds are provided for convenience, illustration and teaching purposes only. We do not control third-party sites and we are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability, security or privacy practices, and a link or embed should not be read as an endorsement of that third party or its products. If you follow a link away from our site, the third party's own terms and privacy policy will apply to you.

Where we quote from or summarise third-party material, we do so fairly and for the purposes of review, teaching or reporting. If you believe that a link, quotation or embedded item on this site is unlawful, inaccurate or infringes your rights, please tell us at [email protected] and we will review it.

11. Privacy, data protection and cookies

For the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018, the data controller is Leading Light Technologies Ltd, whose registered office is Beaconsfield Studios, Station Road, Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, HP9 1LG. We process personal data in order to provide the website and our courses, to create and administer accounts and bookings, to take and reconcile payment, to answer enquiries and complaints, to keep business and tax records, to meet our legal obligations, and to improve our services and understand how the site is used.

We rely on the lawful bases of performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations, our legitimate interests in running and improving our business, and your consent, for example where you ask to receive marketing emails. You have the right to request access to your personal data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have data erased in certain circumstances, to restrict or object to processing, to receive data you provided in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. Our retention periods, the categories of recipients we share data with, and the safeguards we apply to any international transfers are described in our Privacy Policy.

On cookies and similar technologies, we comply with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003. Strictly necessary cookies are set without consent because the site cannot function without them. Analytics, preference, advertising and other non-essential cookies are set only after you have agreed through the cookie banner shown on the site, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time; you can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings, although some parts of the site may then stop working properly. We send direct marketing by email only where we have your consent or where a lawful soft opt-in applies, and every marketing message includes a simple way to unsubscribe.

This site has a cookie banner and a Contacts page with a contact form. Personal details that you choose to submit through those features are collected and used only as described in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

12. Other legal documents that apply to your use of this site

This page summarises the legal framework that applies to the site. The following documents form part of the agreement between you and us and should be read alongside this page:

  • Privacy Policy — how we collect, use, store, share and retain personal data, and how you can exercise your data protection rights.
  • Cookie Policy — the cookies and similar technologies used on the site, their purposes, their duration and how to manage or withdraw your consent.
  • Terms and Conditions — the rules for accessing the site, creating an account, enrolling on courses and using our services.
  • Payment and Refund Policy — prices, payment methods, invoicing, refunds, transfers, cancellations and failed access.

Where there is a conflict between this page and the Terms and Conditions, the Terms and Conditions take precedence in relation to your use of the site and the purchase of services. Copies of all of these documents are available free of charge on request from [email protected].

13. Applicable law, competent courts and consumer dispute rights

These terms, and your use of the website, are governed by the law of England and Wales. Subject to the paragraph below, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with the site. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may bring proceedings in the courts of your own part of the United Kingdom and you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections given to you by the law there. Nothing in this page deprives a consumer of the protection of the law of the part of the United Kingdom in which they live.

If you are unhappy with anything, please raise it with us first, by email at [email protected], by telephone on 01494 671234 or through the contact form on our Contacts page, so that we have a proper opportunity to put things right. We aim to acknowledge complaints within five working days and to give you a full response within twenty working days. If we cannot resolve a dispute between us, you may be able to use an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider; we are not obliged to participate in ADR and will tell you if we decide not to. Consumers in England, Wales and Northern Ireland can also seek free advice from Citizens Advice, and consumers in Scotland from Advice Direct Scotland. Nothing on this page prevents you from contacting a trading standards service, or from exercising any right you have under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

14. Changes to this page, contact route and last update

We review this page regularly and may update it to reflect changes in the law, in our services or in the way the site works. The version published here is the current version, and the date shown at the top of the page tells you when it was last changed. Where a change materially affects your rights or the way we use your personal data, we will give notice on the site and, where appropriate, by email before the change takes effect. Continued use of the site after an update means that you accept the updated version; if you do not agree with it, please stop using the site and contact us if you have an active booking.
